Some things just go together—like Chiropractic and STOTT Pilates.
Meet Cancio Chiropractic’s sister studio, TRU Pilates. TRU was relaunched in 2019 to support the healing process of patients who have gone through our Chiropractic treatments, and to give an outlet for anyone looking for an effective workout that makes them stronger, leaner, and longer.
Why Chiropractic and STOTT Pilates?
Think of your spine as your body’s primary structure. The muscular system is the supporting structure.
What Chiropractic does is heal and optimize your primary structure through spinal alignment and by increasing mobility. STOTT Pilates supports and reinforces the correction that Chiropractic achieves by strengthening the supporting structure—activating those sleeping, weak, and injured muscles.
STOTT Pilates is one of the best contemporary approaches to Joseph Pilates’ original method. It’s designed to adapt to how we live our lives today, whether you’re an athlete, undergoing rehabilitation, or simply in need of exercise.
At Cancio Chiropractic, we see many patients coming in for different concerns. We’ve noticed that those who get to live a healthy lifestyle sustainably and don’t get re-injured are the ones who support their routine Chiropractic visits with STOTT Pilates sessions at TRU. Here’s how it works:
If you’re injured: Chiropractic gives you a drug-free approach to healing and addresses the real root of your problem. After healing, STOTT Pilates supports the recovery phase and prevents re-injury. When Chiropractic care and STOTT Pilates work together, you can achieve ultimate spine health restoration.
If you need a wellness check: Chiropractic aligns your spine, while STOTT Pilates strengthens the muscles of your spine. The result is high prevention of injury, optimized body function (a win, especially for athletes), and good posture no matter your age.
If you’re already a Pilates practitioner: Because Chiropractic optimizes spinal alignment and mobility, it also helps you become stronger and move better in Pilates.
Why is Pilates One of the Best Exercises?
At TRU, we also see clients who just want to get started with a workout or complement their existing exercise routine.
STOTT Pilates is an extraordinary workout that truly transforms the body. It’s considered one of the best exercises there is, because Pilates can simultaneously develop muscles that are underused, and recondition muscles that are overused.
Of course, key to this is the instruction of a Certified STOTT Pilates instructor, which TRU Pilates provides. Only a certified instructor can accurately read a client’s body during a session, identifying those underused and overused muscles. At TRU, there are no pre-set, cookie-cutter workout sessions. In each session, our certified trainers will focus on how your body is responding that day, and will conduct the workout based on what you need at that moment, in relation to your long-term fitness goals.
TRU offers both in-person classes in a private studio, as well as virtual sessions.
